***This resource is an excellent book for helping obtain skills necessary for functioning independently in the everyday world. Some of the skills include: understanding signs and labels, following directions, filling out forms, using reference materials, reading newspapers, and consumer education. This book includes clear explanations of these skills and provides interesting worksheets to practice.

***This textbook for science class provides scientific insights into "common" phenomenon as well as ideas for terrific hands on experiments and projects. This text discusses things the students have probably had exposure to and motivates them to have a greater understanding of its function and processes. This is a high interest/practical resource.
