The internet is an invaluable resource for all teachers but even more so for teachers of the deaf and other special education students. On the internet everyone is equal. No one can tell if you are typing with your hands or a mouth stick. No one knows if you can hear or see or walk. It is the true equalizer among those who use it for conversation and interaction. This is the best communicative technology that has come about for the Deaf. The use of the internet can end their isolation from the rest of the world that has previously not been able to benefit from their input. This technology can be a terrific motivator for students to learn to read and write.
