philosophies guide the way a person teaches. They represent a personís
feelings and beliefs about how a good teacher should be. Mrs. Cundra was
willing to share some of her teaching philosophies.
Make the students feel comfortable in the classroom
Make what you teach relevant to real life
Get the students prepared for real life: job, family, living
on their own
Help them to be successful in their lives; not on welfare
Cover what the parents need; support them in what they need
Help them to understand the concepts being taught
class was a fun place to be. There were interactions with the students
all day, and everyone was treated with respect. I believe that the respect
they had for her was because of the philosophies she had about teaching.
The students felt comfortable talking to her about their lives, and were
willing to learn when it came time to do so.
