Learning Environment (Strategies Used for Positive Environment)
Introduction:She tries to catch the children being good and praise them for their good behavior.
The following information is what the teacher
feels are the best strategies that can be used to maintain a positive learning
environment. She wants her classroom to be a positive environment that makes the kids love
to come to school every day. She has found the following to be the best ways to achieve
- She uses positive reinforcers (praise, edibles, high fives, etc.) when the children are
behaving in the desired manner, or if they have worked hard on a given task.
- She uses the premack principle as much as possible.
- She also uses peer pairing. This involves encouraging to children to play at a center
together. She hopes that by pairing the children up, each child will have a positive
effect on the other childs behavior.
- If a child is misbehaving and all other options have been tried, the child will get put
into time out. The child will sit in a chair away from the other children for a designated
amount of time.
