Implications

The purpose of this study is to obtain two deaf students' perspectives on social interaction within a local public high school.  The findings suggest that neither of the two students interviewed would consider themselves to be socially isolated in their current educational placement.

The study consisted of such a small sample size (2) and involved a limited amount of time in the research site which the study does not support: me to draw conclusions from the results. However, this study does support the need to further include the insights of deaf and hard of hearing students who are currently in a mainstream setting in research studies.

The study results suggest that a possible link between deaf and hard of hearing students' social interactions and their communication methods may exist. I think this study warrants further research for investigation on this finding. Reversing the limitations by obtaining a larger sample size and extending the amount of time in the research setting would possibly allow us accurate insight into this finding.
