Major Classroom Management Techniques
The following statements
are some of the classroom management techniques that I will use when I
begin teaching. Classroom management is an important part of teaching.
In order for a teacher to teach a lesson, the students need to be attentive
and on their best behavior. The following bulleted items are techniques
that I will use when I begin to teach.
My Major Classroom Management Techniques:
I will try to increase students'
motivation by relating the material to their experiences, demonstrate an
active interest in the child, demonstrate an active interest in the students'

I will try to appeal to students'
values when intervening in problem situations by appealing to the relationship
between the teacher and student, appealing to the natural consequences
of a specific behavior, appealing to the student's
needs to be liked, and appealing to the student's
I will make the class rules observable, measurable, positive, only five
rules, and no questions (Rhode, Jenson, and Reavis, 1996)
I will maintain a busy schedule throughout the school day because down

I will develop a system of positive reinforcement, like a token economy
system. (Alberto and Troutman, 1999)
I will make activities/lessons fun and interesting so students do not have
an opportunity to get bored and therefore possibly trigger unwanted behaviors.

Having an effective behavior
management plan makes a huge difference in the overall atmosphere of a
classroom. Being able to see problems before they occur can save a lot
of time and prevent a lot of headaches. I want my classroom to be a positive
learning environment, and the only way for that to occur is to have an
effective behavior management plan ready on the first day of the school
