Setting up clear and concise classroom rules and teaching the students what is expected of them while they are in school leads to an organized and respectful classroom. The more they understand how your classroom works, the less confused they will feel about how to act. They will also learn that these rules can be generalized to other settings such as the playground, the lunchroom, or the art room. It will cut down on the amount of time you spend disciplining, and increase your instructional time.
