Ohio DEAfair 98'

The Ohio Association of the Deaf (OAD) will sponsor the first Ohio DEAfair 98'. It will be held at the Ohio State Fair Ground's Lausche Building on September 19, 1998, from 10am-6pm.

The event will include speaders and exhabit booths to educate deaf and hard of hering consumers, deaf children and their hearing parents, service providers, emplyers, doctors, lawyers, and interpreters. Once of the speakers will be Dr. Jack Gannon, author of "Deaf Heritage." Other speakers to be announced later.

The speakers will give a variety of presentations. The presenters will talk about things that affect the daily lives of the deaf people and hearing people who have contact with deaf people such as interpreters and health service providers. There will be presentations on communication, i.e., tty, fax, email, job placement, promotion and education.

There will be entertainers with plays from several different schools for adults and children. There will be special events for the kids.
