Teachers of English and Language Arts (TELA) which is a Special Interest group (SIG) of the convention of American Instructiors of the Deaf (CAID), will hold its fourth biennial conference in Columbus, Ohio, beginning on Friday, June 26, 1998 on Teaching English to the Deaf in the 21st Century. This conderence willl have extensive presentations on Saturday, June 27 and Sunday, June 28 at the Ohio School for the Deaf. TELA presentations may be between 10 and 60 minutes. Send a 50-word summary to Mechelle Disch at the address below. Presentations are invbited for subjects including, but not limited to, the following topics:

• Teaching English Across the Curriculum, for example:
• Using English in automechanics, biology, chemisty, drafting, electric circuits, or other courses.
• Teaching English using art, botany, commmunication, drawing, etc. as subjucts for course material.
• Combining English and Mathematics
• Computer-based Approaches to Teaching English
• Publishing Student Writing
• Targeting Grammer
• Teaching Reading
