Dear Educator/Administrator:

It's conference time! Refreshing ideas to enhance learning skills! Exciting new challenges into the 21st century!

The Teachers of English and Language Arts Conference (TELA), a special interest group (SIG) in conjunction with the Convention of American Instructors of the Deaf (CAID), is hosting its 4th biennial ocnference at the Ohio School for the Deaf, Columbus, Ohio, on June 26-28, 1998.

At this writing, I am sending the "Call for Papers" information sheet for you and you colleagues who might be interested in sharing their expertise in teacing English to deaf students. Send a 50-word summary to: Mechelle Disch, conference co-chairman, at the Ohio School for the Deaf.

If you are interested in attendding as a participant only, we will forward registration forms and lodging information to you sometime in April or May. The three-day workshop fee is $50.00 for CAID members. In order to participate in TELA activities, one needs to be a member of CAID. CAID membership inquiries will be best answreed by Helen Lovato, and her address is:
