ARRANGEMENTS FOR 1998 CONFERENCE IN LEXINGTON, KENTUCKY

The 24th Annual ACE-DHH Conference arrangements have been finalized, so mark March 6, 7, 8, and 9th on your calendars and join us in Lexington, Kentucky for some "southern" (mid) hospitality. Lexington is centrally located in the heart of the Bluegrass with an abundance of historical and cultural activities to participate in during the hours of free time at the convention. From Majestic mountains in the east, to vast sparkling lakes in the west, to deep, lush forests preserved for hiking and camping, Kentucky's beauty offers unlimited nature and recreational opportunities within a short distance from the city.

The Hilton Suites at Lexington Green is within walking distance to shopping, dining, and entertainment (including the Comedy Club). Reservations can be made directly using their toll free number (1-800-367-4754). These must be made by February 12, 1998 to secure a room. Accommodations include a two-room suite with many amenities at the rate of $95.00 single/double occupancy. There is no charge for children or parking. A complimentary hotel shuttle will meet you at the airport, which is approximately six miles away. Just phone the hotel from the Bluegrass Airport. Jet service is available on several major carriers such as Delta, United, and US Air. Other airlines provide commuter flights from Louisville, Nashville, Detroit, Atlanta, and Cincinnati. Rental cars are not necessary because of the convenient location of the hotel. However, several rental agencies are situated within the Bluegrass Airport.

As stated in the last newsletter, we have planned for you to experience the equine tradition. An "Old Kentucky Night" will substitute for our usual banquet, and it will be held at the Kentucky Horse Park. You will enjoy an evening of dinner, entertainment, and touring the grounds of a beautiful working horse farm. Transportation will be provided. Weather permitting, we have the option of a hayride and walking tour of the barns and horse paddocks prior to the evening buffet of Kentucky fare. Time will be allowed to stroll through the one-of-a-kind "International Museum of the Horse" and view a movie depicting the horse world. Sound exciting ? Later we will be entertained by a group of cloggers (similar to square dancing). Those of you who are brave enough may want to participate. Regardless, we're sure you'll enjoy yourself.

A registration form is attached to the newsletter in addition to a membership form. Please send the completed information along with your check, money order, or voucher to: Karen Dilka, PhD., Vice President ACE-DHH, Eastern Kentucky University, Wallace 245, Richmond, Kentucky 40475.
