How often do you use the materials and articles in Perspectives in Education and Deafness in your classroom? Or are there other publications you found useful?

Thanks.

It depends on the issue of the magazine.

There are months when I find 3 or 4 articles applicable to my situation and other months when nothing in the magazine really affects me. I just tuck those issues away for future reference when maybe there articles will have some relevance to me.

Overall, I find "Perspectives" the best magazine out there for teachers of the deaf. The articles that apply to me, are VERY useful.

Mike,

If and when I happen to get a hold of a copy of Perspectives, I have found some interesting articles that I could learn from. So far, Perspectives seems to be the most useful of all the publications of its kind that I have seen so far. I wish all teachers could get a free subscription or Perspectives on the internet (Web Page) would not be a bad idea, where teachers could search for articles on a particular subject and print particular articles. Is anyone from Perspectives reading this? (Hint hint!)

Do I assume that this was a question to all?

I am a consultant to public schools with D/HH students, not a classroom teacher, and I frequently refer to specific articles in Perspectives for schools. Almost every issue has at least one article that aplies to some school or situation with which I am involved, and the articles are very readable.

I'd appreciate it if someone would post how to subscribe to that magazine and it's cost.

Thanks much...

Oh yes, there is a constant lurker from Perspectives here! And it is me. I must note that EDUDEAF is a rich source of info for us.... Next issue we will feature an edudeaf mom (with other parents & teachers of deaf kids) who discovered some reading sites on the web... and we DO INDEED have a web site, thanks to Ken Kurlychek who does the webbing at Pre-College National Mission Programs Gallaudet University.

You can check out the Perspectives Website through the Pre-College Gallaudet web page: http://www.gallaudet.edu/~precpweb. There's other good stuff there as well.

ALSO-- we are always hungry for information, good ideas, experiences, and classroom tips.... and FEEDBACK. So pls keep us in touch with what you think about this publication. You can e-mail me directly at address above anytime.

World Around You, a companion magazine for deaf and hard of hearing teens, is another good magazine...

You can order full issues through our websites OR call 1-800-526-9105 T/V

Thanks for the nice words--hope you continue to like Perspectives.

Cathy
