Take your child to the library and pick our books together. Look for colorful books with large, simple pictures.
Place interesting toys and objects around to room to encourage your child to walk to them. Once he or she reaches the object or toy, you can name it.
Demonstrate for your child how to wash and dry hands. Be sure to use the words washing, water, wet, soap while modeling this important self-care skill. Provide your child with many opportunities to practice. Remember to give lots of praise.
Make a simple puzzle for your child. Buy a cardboard jack-o-lantern wall decoration and cut it into three or four interlocking pieces. Show your child how to push the pieces together to complete the jack-o-latern face. Then take the puzzle apart and encourage him or her to put he pieces together again.
