Treasurer's Report

It has been a bit difficult to compile this report so soon after the Santa Fe meeting. A number of billings have not been received from the hotel, the Inn at Loretto.

As of this date, the organization appears to be in reasonably good health financially:

Money Market Account...............$9,686.20

Regular Checking Account..........$7,123.29

Total in ACE-DHH Accounts....$16,809.49

The major expense at the Inn at Loretto has been paid as has the costs of interpreters. The conference in Santa Fe was the highest ever; however, we also had the largest attendance ever!

Inn at Loretto..............................$8,605.90

Interpreters..................................$3,811.35

It needs to be noted that the special interpreter for one person was $1088.00 which was only one-half the special interpreter costs. In my judgment, ACE-DHH needs to establish a reimbursement/payment rate for payment of interpreters. Interpreter costs exceeded 30% of the total conference costs.

Not reflected in the fiscal report is a payment of $1000.00 to the Mary Delaney Memorial Scholarship Fund. You may recall that the membership voted to support this fund at Canisius College, Buffalo, New York. Mary was a long-time member and avid supporter of ACE-DHH.

At the direction of the Board, there have been refunds made to certain individuals for the preconference workshop fee for a total of $280.00. Two individuals who were unable to attend due to circumstances beyond their control were granted registration refunds of $270.00. The organization enjoys a healthy balance at this time. The membership should acknowledge the extraordinary efforts of Ed and Susan Shroyer and Ruth Fletcher in management of the past two meetings in Virginia and New Mexico. They did a grand job!
