Teaching Science

Keywords: Instructional Strategies, Science, K-6

Description:
When teaching science to deaf elementary students, let the students learn through inquiry and discovery. Provide something concrete for observation or materials for experimentation. See what they can come up with before teaching. Encourage them to observe, think, formulate questions, and find answers to their questions. Lecture last to wrap up your discovery session with explanation and clarification of concepts.
