Salishan Lodge
The 1993 ACE-HI conference will be at
Salishan Lodge in Gleneden Beach, Oregon. The
Pacific Northwest's only five-star resort, it is a 2-
hour's drive from Portland and is situated on a
forested slope overlooking the ocean. The
facilities at Salishan include an 18-hole ocean-side
golf course, tennis courts, indoor pool and sun
deck, fitness center, saunas, game rooms and
playgrounds, miles of nature trails and running
loops, and secluded beaches. . .are you drooling
yet?.
Registration information will be mailed
out before the conference. If you can't wait, you
can telephone (800) 452-2300.
Salishan Lodge was featured in a review
in the April, 1992, Vis Vis Magazine. The author
described Salishan as "as just the place for gently
paced romantic respite." She was especially
impressed with the setting ("amid 750 acres of
forest, barely interrupting the hemlock, spruce,
and cedar"), the rooms ("comfortable, spacious. .
. unpretentiously furnished with all the necessities.
. . [including] whirlpool baths, private balconies,
flagstone fireplaces, and a generous supply of
wood"), the dining room ("sweeping views
through the trees, down to the bay, and out to
sea"), gourmet dining, and an award-winning wine
list.
