In celebration of its centennial, the Department of Education at Gallaudet is hosting the first-ever international symposium on teacher education in deafness. The symposium will be held in Washington, DC, June 4-6, 1992,at the Hyatt Regency Capitol Hill Hotel. Entitled "A World of Change: Challenges in the Education of Teachers for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Children and Youth," the symposium will address: (1) international perspectives in the education of teachers; (2) current and emerging trends in teacher education and deafness; and (3) directions for a new century of excellence.
