Hi all! I recently made my way to Blockbuster to buy "Land Before Time VI" (sign language version). My prekindergarten class *loved* it. I was wondering if anyone knew of any other movies out there that are interpreted.

What a great plus for kids who are not yet old enough to read captions. I've also used it for myself to practice voice interpreting.

Hope to hear from ya'

Regarding the message about videos in sign:

Along with Mary Pat Moeller, Tom Holcomb, and Franky Ramont, we have published four children's stories in ASL with voice overs. The stories are

There are two stories per tape for $14 per tape.

You can obtain purchasing info by calling Boys Town Press at 1 800 282-6657

By the way, this work was supported by the National Institutes of Health and the authors receive no royalties.

Stay tuned for the next 9 stories we publish.

Some folks have asked for a list of future stories that we will publish. Also someone asked for clarification. These stories are signed in ASL with English voice-overs. The videotapes have the pictures from the book edited into the video so you see picture, signing.

We would appreciate feedback about how kids like these.

Here are the future books. We have 9 already videotaped and all they need is editing. Any suggestions concerning books would be appreciated. However, there are some publishers that will not give us permission.

Kindergarten and early Elementary

Preschool

We are also planning to produce two tapes of baby board books. We have selected some books, but are in the process of getting permission. Our tentative list is:

We are also currently looking for kindergarten and early elementary books that have a multi-cultural theme. We would also be interested in knowing some deaf signers who are FLUENT in ASL, know how to tell stories to children, and are African-American, Hispanic, or Asian American. We can't pay much and travel costs are a concern, but names would be appreciated.

Cindy Neuroth-Gimbrone has asked if we would produce some of these with Spanish voice-over. I think that is an excellent idea. Anyone willing to help with the translation? I also would need to run this by Mary Pat but I think it is well worth discussing.

I asked for suggestions for books before and many thanks to those who have responded. Some we could not use because publishers denied permission, such as Corderoy and Curious George. We are also trying to stay with books that have potential for staying in print for some time so parents can purchase them.

I am still subscribed through an old account in Nebraska instead of here in Boulder, Colorado. So if you wish to email me directly please use
