Bilingual Education:

- Programs vary according to when and how each language is used
-Sometimes the two languages are used separately
-Sometimes both languages are mixed freely within the student’s courses
- Different staffing patterns may be used
-Teacher aides might provide individual assistance in regular classroom
-Certified bilingual teacher might teach specific content at specified times
- Typically incorporates ESL techniques
- Materials in student’s native language are usually a part of the curriculum
- Recommended for students with mild, moderate, or moderate-to-severe hearing loss
