Qualifications:
Minimum:
-
Council on Education of the Deaf Certification;
-
Graduate degree in deaf education or related field;
-
proficiency in American Sign Language;
-
teaching experience in a school for the deaf and/or public school classes
for the deaf.
Preferred:
-
Earned doctorate in deaf education or related field;
-
teaching experience in a university deaf education teacher preparation
program;
-
ability and willingness to team teach in USAO's interdisciplinary liberal
arts core curriculum.
Summary of Work and Responsibilities:
The person filling this position will serve as coordinator and
teach courses
in the Deaf Education Program. Other responsibilities include
advising
majors, supervising practicum students and student teachers,
and serving on
resident teacher committees.
