If you missed the earlier announcements, the 2001 ACE-DHH conference will be at the Horton Grand Hotel, a restored Victorian hotel in the heart of the Gaslamp District of downtown San Diego.  This hotel was originally two hotels in different parts of the city.  One was a “cowboy’s” hotel and the other was a “gentleman’s” hotel.  These two hotels were dismantled and moved to the present site where they were jointed by a courtyard to make the Horton Grand.  An interesting place with an interesting look.

This is a relatively small hotel and although we have reserved a block of rooms for you, we advise you to make your reservations as soon as possible.  Room rates are $139 – 159.

For pictures of the hotel, go to http://www.hortongrand.com/home.html.
To call for reservations:  (800) 542-1886 or (619) 544-1886.
Be sure to mention you are with ACE-DHH.

San Diego is quite stunning in February.  You’ll be able to enjoy several world famous San Diego attrac-tions, its beaches and bays, the San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park, Sea World, Legoland, and, of course, the wonderful beaches and bays (did we already say that?)  It’s a great place to visit with your family.  And there’s more.  You can take a 20-minute trolley ride and walk across the border into Tijuana.  Or you can drive up the coast to Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm in 90 minutes.  Another L.A. attraction worth the trip is the Getty Museum (two hours drive).  If you’re a golfer, you will not find better weather or prettier courses than those in the area.  Plan on spending an extra day or two and bring the family to a great conference in a great place.
