Funding Announcement

The University of Pittsburgh, Department of Instruction & Learning is pleased to announce the award of a 3 year grant from the Department of Education, OSEP.  The grant will fund research which will investigate deaf and hard of hearing students' mathematics problem-solving success and strategy use with signed story problems.  The grant will support 4 graduate research assistants and 1 student worker (masters or doctoral level) to help with various aspects of the study including data collection.  The graduate research assistant positions ( 1 senior assistant for 3 years, and 3 junior assistants for one year ) include a stipend, fringe benefits, and tuition waiver.  Two Deaf and 2 hearing persons are needed.  Sign language proficiency is required.
