Deaf Education certification required; masters degree preferred
Summary of Work and Responsibilities:
There are several instructional positions available in the central
Texas area north, south and east of Austin, Texas. These jobs
include both campus-based positions as well as itinerant jobs.
Applicants should have a willingness to meet a diverse population,
the ability to assess students, develop and implement IEP goals in
content areas as well as reading, language and audition; and
the ability to work collaboratively both with deaf ed professional staff such
as audiologists, consultants and counselors, as well as special
education and general education staff.
Knowledge and Skills Needed:
Proficiency in signed English, good knowledge of language
acquisition and familiarity with a variety of communication
methodologies (total communication & auditory/oral).
