A Word from our President-Elect:

I went to New Orleans on September 18th and met with the local planning committee (Hank Teller, Kate Reynolds, Gerry Buisson). The hotel and conference facilities are wonderful!  Truly, first class!  Our meeting rooms are large and excellent.  New Orleans and the conference hotel, The Monteleone, will make for an outstanding conference venue, not to mention delicious food, wonderful jazz and the charm of an international city.

Plans for an exciting keynote speaker to address the theme and provide us with ideas for partnering are being finalized.  After our Keynote Speaker, we will have a panel discussion representing teacher educators, school administrators, teachers, and community leaders.  This will be followed by an opportunity for conference participants to discuss the issues and ideas raised in the keynote and panel presentations.  During the conference there will be additional opportunities to share ideas and experiences for better partnering.

We have also planned for an exciting closing day (Sunday) with a luncheon banquet and a closing speaker.  This speaker will help wrap-up the conference and help us be ready to develop action plans for working with partners in our home communities.  In addition to these plenary activities, there will be concurrent sessions, poster sessions, and round tables.
