Qualifications:

Speech Language Specialist: holds (or is eligible for) New Jersey
State Speech Language Specialist certification
Summary of Work and Responsibilities:
-
Speech Language Specialist: functions as a member of the Child Study
Team for hearing-impaired/deaf students in the Newark Public Schools (based
at Bruce Street School for the Deaf) and performs all duties as set forth
in 6:28 Special Education (New Jersey Administrative Code Education);
-
provides speech and language therapy to students as per their IEPs in both
individual and group settings.
Knowledge and Skills Needed:
-
has good sign skills and has a background or knowledge in working
with deaf students;

CYF supervision available.
