Applicants must be eligible for certification as a teacher of the deaf in the state of Iowa. Prefer a graduate of an established deaf ed. program with a strong sign language background (ASL).

Summary of Work and Responsibilities:
This is a self-contained position teaching deaf and hard of hearing students. This vacancy will probably be at a middle school level. This teacher will be responsible for teaching reading, language arts, and some math.

Knowledge and Skills Needed:
Knowledge of the needs of middle school students, strong sign language skill(ASL/PSE), and knowledge of teaching reading to the deaf.
