University Teaching Load: 12 Units

Qualifications:

• An earned doctorate in Deaf Education or closely related field is required.
• CED professional certification;
• Ability to relate with an increasingly diverse study body and faculty,
• Three years of successful teaching experience with deaf and hard of hearing children in the area of speech and aural rehabilitation are required.

• Teach speech, aural rehabilitation, or/and school subjects coursework.
• Supervise clinical practicum in a Deaf Education curriculum with a comprehensive philosophy.
• Our department coursework prepares students to teach in oral, cued speech, total communication, ASL and bilingual/bicultural programsfor deaf and hard-of-hearing students and emphasizes using state-of-the-art instructional technology.
• The successful candidate should be able to work cooperatively with colleagues in the department and college.
• The successful candidate will be expected to work cooperatively with faculty, staff and students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
