Qualifications:

Masters/Teachers Credential - Teacher of the Deaf

Early Childhood - Parent Education and Support
-
3 years teaching
-
Fluent Sign Language (knowledgeable in SEE, ASL and SimCom)

Strong Early Childhood, Auditory Training and speech development
-
Play Approach to Learning
-
Ability to Lift Small Children and drive to home visits
Summary of Work and Responsibilities:
-
Teach daily morning nursery school class (up to 8 students with teacher
aides and consultants)
-
Provide home visits and parent education
-
Prepare necessary IFSP and IEP reports and final reports
-
Creative teaching and self-motivated
-
Ability to work cooperatively with team and parents
-
Maintain caseload of 8-12 primary students
-
Ability to work closely with and supervise teacher assistants
Knowledge and Skills Needed:
-
Fluent signs; knowledgeable in SEE, ASL, SimCom

Strong auditory and speech development skills and background

Abilty to lift small children and drive to home visits

Early Childhood development, multiply handicapped, deaf culture

Good interpersonal and communication skills

Strong team player; flexible and creative teacher
