Minimum: Masters in Deaf Education w/ three years specialized experience.
Alaska teacher certification.
Preferred: Experience in deaf education in regular education
Summary of Work and Responsibilities:
Provide on-site and distance supports for the local special education of deaf
and hard of hearing students in regular education settings throughout Alaska, through consulting, training, materials, and program recommendations and follow-up. Overnight travel throughout Alaska, roughly 50% of contract days.
Knowledge and Skills Needed:
All professional skills and values necessary to effectively support the education of deaf students and students with significant hearing loss in regular education environments, and in rural and remote small schools and communities.
