PRE-DATA information:   DESCRIPTION OF "OTHER": Coordinate ACE-DHHwide project to develop instructional CDs.

(Refer to Choices Menu and list the required pre-data for your choice.)

Objectives: The availability of usable practicum sites is always a challenge for instructors in deaf education programs, especially those in rural areas. One remedy to this is the use of instructional videotapes. However, since deaf education is such a low incidence disability, publishers have been reluctant to put the time and money into developing quality tapes. This has resulted in a paucity of available instructional materials. As a result, faculty members have had to take it into their own hands to make usable videotapes, and these tapes are sitting in offices all around the nation. The purpose of this project is to gather these materials, digitize them, then burn them on to CDs for redistribution among our colleagues in deaf education.

Develop a CD of instructional practices that students will use to understand instruction.

EXPECTED DIFFERENCES: Students will have a common base of experiences via the CD upon which to base classroom discussions
