Part of this grant will be
written so that teachers in training will be prepared to maintain contact with
deaf students over the summer. Deaf
students will receive training in how to use the public libraries to stay in
contact with their teachers and with their deaf peers to reduce the isolation
experienced during the summer.

Teachers in Training will keep a
log of their contacts. A sampling of
deaf student participants will be interviewed at the beginning of the school
year to record their experiences in maintaining contact with peers over the
summer.
